Nissan has confirmed that production of the Versa for the U.S. market will end in December 2025. However, an all-new generation of the Versa has already entered production at Nissan’s A1 plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and will be exclusively supplied to Latin American markets, including Mexico and Brazil. The new model features a more intricate three-tier front fascia and split headlights; its side profile largely carries over the design from the 2019 model, though it now rides on upgraded 17-inch wheels. The rear end sees minimal changes, retaining the black trim strip and “Versa” badging. Powertrain options are expected to carry over the Latin American-spec Kicks’ 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine (113 hp) paired with a CVT transmission, and a manual gearbox may be discontinued. In the U.S., the Sentra will become Nissan’s only remaining entry-level sedan, while the Altima will continue sales until summer 2027 before being phased out—leaving the Sentra as Nissan’s sole sedan offering in North America. Although the Versa won’t return to the U.S. market, its affordable positioning remains relevant in today’s market, where the average new vehicle price exceeds $50,000.
