XPeng Motors announced that Volkswagen will become the launch customer for its second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model, marking the official entry of this technology into mass production and external supply. The second-generation VLA adopts an end-to-end "vision-to-action" architecture, bypassing traditional language translation steps to deliver faster, more intuitive responses—akin to the instinctive reflexes of an experienced driver. The system is powered by XPeng’s self-developed Turing AI chip, which delivers 2,250 TOPS of computing power per unit, and is trained on data equivalent to 65,000 years of human driving experience. Starting in Q1 2026, it will be deployed on XPeng models including the P7+, G7, and X9. Beyond enhancing intelligent driving capabilities, XPeng is building a high-margin, low-marginal-cost software ecosystem through technology licensing, accelerating its strategic shift from vehicle sales to technology export.
