As of the end of January 2026, China had a total of 20.698 million electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure units (chargers), representing a 49.6% year-on-year increase. Of these, public charging facilities totaled 4.801 million units, up 31.2% year-on-year, with a combined rated power capacity of 226 million kilowatts and an average power output of approximately 47.01 kilowatts per unit. Private charging facilities reached 15.897 million units, marking a 56.1% year-on-year increase, with a reported installed electrical capacity of 138 million kVA. The data was released by the National Energy Administration on February 27, sourced from the National Charging Infrastructure Monitoring and Service Platform.
