During a live broadcast on February 27, Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, systematically introduced Xiaomi Auto's safety framework, emphasizing that safety has always been at the core of the company’s vehicle development since it entered the automotive industry. A Xiaomi safety expert stated the company’s goal is to “build the safest car in its class” and has established a comprehensive safety system comprising clear objectives, dedicated organizational structures, and robust mechanisms. The Xiaomi Automotive Safety Committee, serving as the highest decision-making body, oversees a R&D and manufacturing team of over 3,500 people, with the safety department holding veto power on critical decisions. The new-generation SU7 comes standard across all trims with a 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel roll cage, nine airbags, LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and a computing platform delivering 700 TOPS of processing power. It also features Xiaomi’s end-to-end HAD (Human Autonomy Driving) advanced driver-assistance system. Even the base model shares identical hardware with the top-tier variant, ensuring comprehensive safety for all users.
