A man recently captured bizarre footage in the parking lot of a Dollar General store: a Ford Mustang was parked directly in front of an accessible parking space, and its owner was seen using a paint roller to apply gray paint to the rear of the car and bumper right on the spot. The video, posted on Facebook by Erik Almy, has garnered over 2.2 million views. The uploader captioned it: “I have so many questions.” Online users have speculated wildly about the motive—some joking that the driver was trying to evade police (since the original car color was white), even concocting scenarios like “robbing the store and rushing into a car wash to turn back into a white car.” However, professional automotive repainting involves multiple steps—including surface repair, sanding, and sealing—and typically takes several days to weeks, costing anywhere from $700 to $7,000. Experts warn that DIY painting like this often results in color mismatches, peeling, or flaking, which not only ruins the car’s appearance but could also reduce its resale value. The individual involved has not yet responded to media inquiries.
