Apollo Go has temporarily suspended its autonomous driving tests and commercial operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), stating that this move is in alignment with the unified deployment by relevant UAE authorities to ensure transportation safety and operational order. The company said it has made appropriate arrangements for its local team to safeguard employee safety and stability and is maintaining close communication with local regulators and partners. It will strictly follow official guidance and resume operations at an appropriate time. Previously, Apollo Go had accelerated its expansion into the UAE market, launching public-facing fully driverless commercial services in Abu Dhabi in January this year and obtaining Dubai’s first fully driverless testing permit.
