Pony.ai announced that its seventh-generation Robotaxi achieved monthly per-vehicle operational profitability in Shenzhen in February 2026, making Shenzhen the second first-tier Chinese city—after Guangzhou—to reach this milestone. Data shows that in February, the average daily net revenue per vehicle reached RMB 338, with an average of 23 orders per day. By December 2025, the operational area in Shenzhen had expanded to 167.4 square kilometers. The seventh-generation vehicle enhances user experience through features such as Bluetooth unlocking, voice interaction, and pre-conditioned climate control, while refined acceleration and deceleration controls help reduce motion sickness. Thanks to improved product capabilities and optimized operational efficiency, paid ride orders in Shenzhen surpassed the total volume for all of 2025 by February 16, 2026. The company stated that its new-generation system uses 100% automotive-grade components, reducing the bill-of-materials (BOM) cost by approximately 70% compared to the previous generation. Combined with advancements in AI algorithms and fleet management optimization, these improvements continue to strengthen the unit economics model.
