Tesla’s new all-wheel-drive (AWD) Cybertruck hit the U.S. market and, just 10 days after its launch, saw its price jump from $59,990 to $69,990—a 17% increase. Unveiled on February 19, this model comes standard with dual motors, a 325-mile range, adaptive damping suspension, a power tonneau cover, and V2X power supply capability, making it the most value-packed version available. However, Elon Musk had already warned on launch day that “this price will only last 10 days,” triggering a buying frenzy. Citing overwhelming order volume, Tesla subsequently pushed delivery timelines out to 2026 or even 2027 and eliminated leasing options for this variant. Notably, while the current $69,990 AWD model offers significantly upgraded specs compared to the previously discontinued rear-wheel-drive version, it still costs roughly 40% more than the $49,900 dual-motor variant promised at the vehicle’s 2019 debut—even after adjusting for inflation, it remains about $7,000 more expensive.
