On March 3, Kuaitech reported a dramatic incident that occurred on the G25 Hangzhou-Xin'an-Jingdezhen Expressway. Early in the morning on February 28, a black sedan suddenly stopped in the middle of the third lane with its hazard lights activated, forcing following vehicles to swerve urgently to avoid a collision. Hangzhou Expressway Traffic Police spotted the anomaly via video surveillance and quickly arrived at the scene, where they found the driver fast asleep inside the vehicle due to extreme fatigue after just finishing a night shift. The car’s SOS system had already automatically triggered an alert. The vehicle’s intelligent driver-assistance system had detected that the driver’s hands had been off the steering wheel for an extended period, causing it to disengage and bring the car to a stop—leaving it stranded in the travel lane. Under police direction, the vehicle was moved to the emergency shoulder, preventing a potential accident. Authorities emphasized: "Intelligent driver-assistance systems are not autonomous driving systems. Drowsy driving poses extremely high risks—never rely on these systems at the expense of your safety."
