On March 3, Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi Group, emphasized in an interview that current assisted driving technologies for smart electric vehicles have not yet reached Level 3 or Level 4 autonomy and still heavily rely on human drivers. He reminded users to always keep their hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road ahead, and maintain full concentration to ensure driving safety. Earlier, during a live stream on February 27, Lei Jun and Xiaomi’s technical experts provided a detailed explanation of Xiaomi Auto’s active safety system, repeatedly stressing that assisted driving cannot replace manual operation and should only serve as a safety fallback. Li Xiaoshuang, Vice President of Xiaomi Auto, also stated that assisted driving is not a reason for "hands-off" driving, and vehicle owners must always be ready to take control of the car.
