Hit by weak January sales, Tesla had a sluggish start in the Australian market this year, selling only 501 vehicles—far behind BYD. However, the latest data shows a strong rebound in February: the Model Y sold 2,791 units in a single month, becoming Australia’s best-selling electric vehicle and outselling the second-place model by more than double. The Model 3 also doubled its sales to 483 units. Driven by these two key models, Tesla’s total sales surged to 3,274 units, reclaiming the top spot in Australia’s EV sales rankings.
