Italian chipmaker Aria Sensing and U.S. technology company Algorized have announced a collaboration to launch a new generation of AI-powered Child Presence Detection (CPD) systems for vehicles. The system integrates Aria Sensing’s “Hydrogen”—the world’s first 3D ultra-wideband (UWB) System-on-Chip (SoC) specifically designed for radar—with Algorized’s edge-native neural network, delivering true 3D detection, approximately 5° angular resolution, up to 1.8 GHz of programmable bandwidth, and ultra-low power consumption. Compared to conventional UWB or millimeter-wave solutions, it offers significant improvements in sensitivity, resolution, energy efficiency, and real-world reliability. The first product will debut at the Mobile World Congress in 2026, aiming to address the critical safety issue of children being accidentally left behind in vehicles.
