BYD recently unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery and 1.5 MW flash charging technology, achieving a dual breakthrough in range and charging efficiency for battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The Denza Z9 GT, equipped with this new technology, features a battery capacity of 120 kWh and delivers a CLTC-rated range of 1,036 kilometers—the highest among all mass-produced BEVs globally. In terms of charging speed, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and from 10% to 97% in only nine minutes. Additionally, BYD plans to build 20,000 self-developed energy storage-based flash charging stations by the end of 2026. These stations require no grid upgrades, significantly reducing both construction and operational costs. This move not only enhances the user experience for vehicle recharging but also further solidifies BYD’s leading position in the new energy vehicle market.
