The all-new BMW i3 (codenamed NA0) will make its global debut overseas on March 18, featuring a core system dubbed the "Heart of Joy"—a "Driving Control Superbrain" that delivers a tenfold improvement in response speed, enabling millisecond-level precision control. This system integrates powertrain, braking, steering, and regenerative braking functions, reducing DSC intervention and supporting "imperceptible braking" for smoother, quieter deceleration. The vehicle has already undergone extreme cold-weather testing at -30°C in Sweden to ensure dynamic stability on icy and snowy roads. In terms of performance, the i3 50 xDrive variant features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, delivering a combined output of 469 horsepower and an EPA-estimated range exceeding 644 kilometers. It supports 800V high-voltage fast charging with a peak charging power of up to 400 kW. Pre-production vehicles rolled off the assembly line in Munich in February, with overseas deliveries expected in the third or fourth quarter following its market launch. Additional variants—including rear-wheel-drive models (i3 35 and i3 40) and an M-series performance version—will follow later.
