Honda has announced a recall of 65,135 units of the 2024 Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric SUVs due to a software defect that could cause the instrument cluster and center infotainment screen to suddenly go black, affecting the display of vehicle speed, warning lights, and rearview camera images. The issue stems from six separate software vulnerabilities in the Radio Control Module (RCM), which may trigger system reboots or complete failure. Honda began investigating the problem in June 2024 and identified the root cause by December 2025, ultimately determining in February 2026 that it fails to meet federal safety standards. No injuries or accidents related to this issue have been reported, though Honda has received 148 warranty claims. Affected vehicle owners will begin receiving notifications in April and should visit authorized service centers for a free RCM software update. Both models are built on General Motors’ Ultium platform.
