The SAIC-GM-Wuling and Huawei co-developed flagship model, the HuaJing S, recently underwent a preliminary C-NCAP five-star safety assessment at China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC), delivering outstanding performance. The vehicle excelled across all three major evaluation categories: occupant protection, active safety, and pedestrian protection. In both the 100% frontal rigid barrier crash test and the 50% offset frontal collision test at 100 km/h, the passenger compartment maintained structural integrity, with no significant deformation observed on the A- and B-pillars, and all doors remained operable post-impact. During side-impact and pole-impact tests, a comprehensive protection system—featuring nine airbags with 14 chambers combined with active pre-tensioning seatbelts—effectively mitigated injury risks. Following collisions, the E-call system automatically triggered emergency calls to facilitate timely rescue operations. Standard across all trims, the vehicle is equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun CAS 4.0 collision avoidance system and an in-cabin LiDAR sensor named Limera, offering over 20 active safety functions to achieve “Five-All” protection. In AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) testing, it achieved full marks for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian scenarios.
