Lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) is accelerating its transition from the laboratory to large-scale mass production, emerging as a new hotspot in new energy battery materials. Recently, industry leader Hengchuang Nano completed a Series B financing round worth several hundred million yuan. The funds will be used to build a 130,000-ton-per-year LMFP cathode material production line in Yinchuan, Ningxia, with the first phase—30,000 tons of annual capacity—currently under accelerated construction. Dynanonic has already established an annual capacity of 110,000 tons, with its products now being widely installed in vehicles. Other major players, including Hunan Yuneng and Ronbay Technology, are also speeding up their deployment; notably, Ronbay’s shipments in the first half of 2025 have already reached the full-year level of 2024. LMFP combines the safety advantages of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) with the higher energy density of ternary materials. It offers lower costs, eliminates reliance on cobalt and nickel, and delivers superior low-temperature performance. The material has already gained widespread adoption in electric two-wheelers, consumer electronics, and small-power applications, while its use in new energy vehicles and energy storage systems is rapidly expanding. With recent technological breakthroughs, maturation of blending solutions, and the rollout of flexible production lines, LMFP is now entering its golden era of industrialization.
