Due to rising costs of chips and lithium batteries, Zeekr Auto expects the refreshed Zeekr 007 GT—scheduled for launch in Q2 2026—to see a price increase of RMB 5,000 to 8,000. Insiders confirmed that the main drivers behind the price hike include AI-driven surges in memory prices, battery cost increases stemming from lithium ore supply uncertainties, and the vehicle’s upgrade to a 900V high-voltage architecture. The Sol autonomous driving chip used in the car incorporates scarce DDR5X memory, and since the second half of 2025, automotive-grade DDR5 memory prices have skyrocketed by 300%. Zeekr is not alone in this trend: Exeed, a premium brand under Chery, has already announced a RMB 5,000 price increase for its ET5210 model, also driven by soaring memory chip costs.
