Facing consecutive sales declines—down 2.9% year-over-year in 2024 and a sharper 11.8% drop in 2023—Audi is seeking a breakthrough with an entirely new design language. Marco Schubert, a company executive, emphasized: “Design remains the primary reason customers choose Audi.” The upcoming production model based on the Concept C embodies the “Radical Next” philosophy, featuring a minimalist, clean aesthetic that clearly distinguishes it from competitors. Approximately 87% of its design elements will carry over to the production version, slated for launch by late 2027 or early 2028. Although Audi won’t revive the TT or R8 nameplates, the new vehicle aims to recapture the brand impact once generated by the original TT. Meanwhile, Audi has pledged to upgrade interior materials and reintroduce physical buttons in key areas, differentiating itself from BMW’s Neue Klasse. While sales volume for this electric sports car will likely remain limited, Audi hopes it will serve as a “rolling advertisement”—much like the TT did—to draw customers into showrooms.
