On April 22, the Shangjie Z7 successfully completed the industry’s first extreme test involving a spiral rollover followed immediately by a frontal collision during a public demonstration. Test results showed that the passenger compartment retained its structural integrity, with no structural failure observed in the A-, B-, or C-pillars. The battery did not catch fire or explode, and both front and rear doors could be opened normally after the impact. The vehicle features a cage-like body structure with 13 horizontal and 5 longitudinal beams. High-strength steel and aluminum alloys account for 91% of the body materials, and 14 critical structural components within the passenger cabin are made of 2,000 MPa hot-stamped steel. The roof can withstand a load equivalent to 5.8 times the vehicle’s own weight. Additionally, the Z7 is equipped with a CPM (Collision Protection Module) safety redundancy system that automatically cuts power after a crash while ensuring the doors remain operable.
