Regulators have issued a list of ten prohibited behaviors to companies participating in the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, aiming to standardize exhibition conduct. The list includes: - Exaggerated or false advertising, such as conflating "driver assistance" with "autonomous driving," marketing semi-solid-state batteries as fully solid-state, or using hyperbolic phrases like "far ahead of the competition"; - Disparaging competitors’ products, including denigrating rival offerings during launches, misrepresenting competitor specifications, or publicly naming specific models as benchmarks; - Publishing false or non-compliant evaluations by manipulating testing agencies or media outlets to release irreproducible test results; - Releasing fabricated data or unauthorized sales rankings; - Overemphasizing price, such as setting prices significantly outside reasonable ranges, pricing below cost, or frequently implementing steep discounts that trigger price wars; - Making unfulfillable promises, such as offering "lifetime warranties" or "guaranteed buybacks"; - Attacking or defaming competitors through orchestrated online trolls or malicious PR campaigns designed to generate negative publicity; - Creating or hyping controversial topics—such as "equal rights for fuel and electric vehicles" or "zero-mile used cars"—and leveraging visits by officials to booths for promotional stunts; - Violating public order and social norms by publishing content that incites regional animosity or causes adverse social impact; - Any other conduct prohibited by laws and administrative regulations. The 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition will be held from April 24 to May 3 at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) and the Capital International Convention and Exhibition Center. Covering a total exhibition area of 380,000 square meters, the show will feature 1,451 vehicles, including 181 world premieres and 71 concept cars. The event schedule includes Press Days (April 24–25), Professional Visitor Days (April 26–27), and Public Days (April 28–May 3), during which 219 press conferences will take place.
