Ford CEO Jim Farley stated that the company's newly developed UEV all-electric platform has achieved significant improvements in efficiency and cost. The technological advancements from this platform will not only be applied to next-generation electric vehicles but also integrated into production lines for mainstream internal combustion engine and hybrid models to reduce costs and enhance quality. Farley revealed that these technologies originated from a confidential R&D project and are now being gradually incorporated into Ford’s manufacturing processes. Ford plans to offer electrified powertrains—including hybrids, battery-electric, and range-extended options—on 90% of its global vehicle lineup by 2030. Regarding the Chinese market, Farley emphasized that as America’s largest automaker, Ford is committed to supporting the U.S. automotive industry and industrial base. He acknowledged that the company is expanding its business through global partnerships, including collaborations with Chinese automakers. However, he clearly stated that he does not want Chinese automakers entering the U.S. market, citing concerns related to economic vitality and national security. Additionally, Farley noted that the pickup truck market continues to grow, with an increasing number of sedan and crossover customers switching to pickups. A new Ford electric pickup priced around $30,000 is seen as having strong potential to attract both traditional pickup buyers and crossover customers, thanks to its spaciousness and product positioning.
