G-Power has unveiled its G5M Bi-Turbo performance upgrade package for the current-generation BMW M5. The factory-fitted V8 engine, which originally produces 717 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque, can be boosted by G-Power to deliver a maximum output of 986 horsepower (approximately 1,000 metric horsepower) and peak torque of 1,200 Nm—just one horsepower shy of the original Bugatti Veyron. The package offers multiple optional upgrade stages: an ECU remap alone yields 850 metric horsepower; adding a sport muffler increases output to 900 metric horsepower; fitting high-flow downpipes further raises it to 950 metric horsepower; and the full kit—including 200-cell sport catalytic converters, a complete exhaust system, an upgraded intercooler, an Eventuri carbon-fiber intake system, and custom software tuning—delivers the full 986 horsepower. The complete conversion costs slightly over €31,000 (approximately RMB 249,000), excluding the €2,856 Eventuri carbon-fiber intake system and €892 carbon-fiber turbo inlets. All upgrades are compatible with both the M5 sedan and the M5 Touring wagon. G-Power has not yet released official 0–100 km/h acceleration figures for the upgraded vehicle but indicated it may introduce an even more aggressive aftermarket turbocharger solution in the future.
