Honda has canceled several planned electric vehicle models, including the Acura RSX, Afeela 1, and the Honda 0 Series sedan and SUV, resulting in confirmed losses of ¥2.5 trillion (approximately RMB 108.73 billion). To control costs, the company has decided to extend the lifecycles of its current popular models. According to an internal supplier memo, the launch of the next-generation Odyssey MPV has been delayed until March 2030. Production of the current Accord will continue until March 2030, with no clear timeline yet for its successor, which may only be offered as a hybrid. The current HR-V compact SUV will remain on sale for at least another two years, with its fourth generation potentially delayed until 2032. For the Acura brand, the TLX and ZDX have already been discontinued, while the RDX is temporarily suspended from sales. The lifecycles of the current Integra and MDX have also been extended. The Integra will remain in production at least through March 2032—by then nearly a decade old—and the next-generation MDX has been postponed to an early 2031 launch, meaning the current model will also approach ten years on the market by that time. A Honda spokesperson confirmed the accuracy of these adjustments, stating the company remains confident in its product strategy and will continue expanding hybrid technology across more models.
