Lu Fang, Chairman of Voyah Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., recently stated that some foreign traditional luxury brands are currently showcasing classic cars from decades ago at auto shows, attempting to attract consumers through history, nostalgia, and sentimentality. He believes that truly vibrant brands should not dwell on past glories but must possess the creativity to look toward the future—otherwise, they will inevitably become relics of history. Lu emphasized, "A true hero doesn't boast about past achievements." While history deserves remembrance, the future must be forged anew: "You can't find a new continent by following an old map." He pointed out that the rapid development of China's new energy vehicle (NEV) industry stems from continuous innovation and constant self-transcendation, not from looking backward. Additionally, Lu noted that as the global automotive market enters an era of stock competition and NEV transformation, profitability challenges are not unique to Chinese NEV makers; global mainstream automakers such as Volkswagen, Toyota, and Stellantis face similar difficulties.
