XPeng Motors recently unveiled its next-generation all-wheel-drive extended-range system on the GX, its flagship SUV. The system features technological upgrades across four key dimensions: range, performance, off-road capability, and cabin quietness. In terms of range, the vehicle is equipped with a 63.3 kWh 5C lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack and a 60-liter fuel tank, combined with a low-energy-consumption design to meet both daily commuting and long-distance intercity travel needs. For performance, the system adopts a dual-motor AWD layout rated at "4S" level, delivering 465 N·m of torque per motor. It maintains stable power output even in low-state-of-charge conditions, effectively addressing the common issue of performance degradation in conventional range-extended vehicles when battery levels are low. Regarding off-road capability, the system offers near-professional SUV-level traction recovery performance and features a dual-redundant drive design, providing dual-layer reliability in complex road conditions and extreme scenarios. This enables seamless adaptability across urban roads, highways, and unpaved surfaces. On cabin quietness, the vehicle employs ENC+RNC active noise cancellation technology and optimizes sealing across 30 cavity areas throughout the body. This keeps the noise increase during range extender operation to ≤0.5 dB, creating a cabin environment nearly as quiet as that of a pure electric vehicle.
