The Buick Zhijing E7 launched on April 22. As of May 5—just two weeks after its market debut—cumulative deliveries have surpassed 5,000 units, with over 80% of buyers being families with children. The vehicle is offered in three variants, with an official manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) ranging from RMB 159,900 to RMB 199,900, and a trade-in incentive price from RMB 154,900 to RMB 194,900. In terms of exterior design, the Zhijing E7 inherits the wing-inspired styling of the Zhijing SUV concept, featuring a closed front fascia and split-type headlights. The upper daytime running lights adopt a C-shaped design, while the lower main lighting units offer dynamic sequential turn signals. The side profile includes semi-recessed door handles and 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. The vehicle measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,676 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Inside the cabin, the E7 features four floating-layer seats that can switch between a “double-bed mode” and a “front-passenger single-bed mode.” The front passenger seat is equipped with an Eames-inspired zero-gravity recliner, enabling a relaxed posture with both abdominal and leg angles set at 120°. Both front and rear seats offer three-level heating and three-level ventilation. The intelligent driving system integrates 27 perception sensors—including LiDAR—and runs on Momenta’s R6 large reinforcement learning model. Under the hood, all variants are powered by Buick’s “Zhenlong Plug-in Hybrid Pro” system, featuring an electric motor rated at 165 kW and supporting 6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) external power output. Mid- and base-trim models are equipped with a 1.5L engine (72 kW) paired with Zhengli New Energy batteries, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 235 km and a combined range of 1,630 km. The chassis is fitted with a preview-based RTD continuously variable damping suspension system, which scans road conditions 500 times per second and proactively adjusts damping up to 200 times per second. It also incorporates eBoost comfort braking technology to minimize forward pitching during deceleration. For safety, the body structure utilizes submarine-grade ultra-high-strength steel with a maximum tensile strength of 2,100 MPa. Side curtain airbags feature a dedicated head-protection zone for rear-facing child seats in the second row, maintaining inflation pressure for 38 seconds—six times longer than the C-NCAP standard. The vehicle has passed 19 electromagnetic radiation tests and earned the China Automotive Technology & Research Center’s (CATARC) NESTA Six-Dimensional Electrical Safety Certification, covering charging safety, battery safety, high-voltage system safety, functional safety, fire safety, and electromagnetic compatibility.
