On June 23, 2025, news of Chen Longdong’s resignation as CEO of Singchen Future Auto drew widespread attention. Shortly afterward, Dreame’s automotive division was absorbed into the company’s Industrial Research Institute, retaining only its R&D functions, casting uncertainty over its vehicle mass-production plans. Dreame had officially announced its entry into the automotive sector in August 2025 and, during the first half of 2026, unveiled multiple concept cars and disclosed mass-production roadmaps to advance its vehicle commercialization efforts. The company previously revealed that its automotive team had secretly begun preparations for its car-making project between 2021 and 2022—around the same time Xiaomi Auto kicked off its initiative. The originally scheduled mass-produced model was slated for launch in 2027, starting with a battery-electric coupe, followed by an SUV from the same series within several months. However, on June 18, 2025, Dreame initiated a business restructuring, consolidating its existing business units (BUs) into four core segments: Whole-Home Smart Cleaning (including indoor and outdoor garden solutions), Smart Home Appliances, Intelligent Mobility, and AI Embodied Intelligence. Business units that had not yet established tangible operations or teams were directly eliminated. This reorganization has further clouded the outlook for Dreame’s vehicle mass-production plans.
