On June 28, the steam-powered motorcycle "Nature's Force," designed by British engineer Graham Sixes, set a new acceleration record for non-rocket-powered motorcycles at the Santa Pod Raceway in the UK. Propelled by high-temperature, high-pressure steam injection, the vehicle features a 120-liter pressure vessel filled with treated pure water, heated by a compact burner to 250°C, generating an internal pressure of 580 psi. Test data show the motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 0.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h over a quarter-mile (approximately 402 meters) in 5.5 seconds. Currently, the steam thrust lasts only 2.9 seconds—one of the key technical bottlenecks. Launched in 2022, the project has now progressed to its fifth-generation prototype, with the team working to extend thrust duration beyond three seconds and address turbulence and cavitation issues in fluid flow to reduce energy losses.
