Ferrari's first all-electric model, the Luce, made its Asian debut recently, with a starting price in China of RMB 3.988 million. This is approximately RMB 360,000 lower than its European price of €550,000 (roughly RMB 4.35 million). Within three days of its launch, all 88 units allocated for the Chinese market were sold out. The Luce marks Ferrari’s first four-door, five-seat production car, designed by LoveFrom studio. It features soft, minimalist exterior lines and measures over five meters in length. The interior blends retro and minimalist design elements. Under the hood, the vehicle is equipped with a quad-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering a combined output of 772 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 310 km/h. It houses a 122 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTC-rated range of 530 kilometers and supporting 350 kW high-voltage fast charging—capable of adding 70 kWh of charge in 20 minutes. The chassis features an upgraded active suspension system, balancing ride comfort and dynamic handling. The Luce initially sparked controversy due to its departure from Ferrari’s traditional supercar aesthetics, causing the company’s stock price to drop more than 6% and prompting a leadership reshuffle, including the replacement of the executive overseeing commercial operations. Ferrari has denied rumors that purchasing the Luce requires bundling it with other high-end models, stating that the vehicle aims to attract an entirely new customer segment.
