Jeep plans to launch three all-new models within the next four years to comprehensively revamp its product lineup in Europe. Two of these will be compact crossover SUVs specifically developed for the European market, both positioned above the current Avenger—one compact in size and the other slightly smaller than the Compass but approaching C-segment dimensions. These two models will be built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform (formerly referred to as STLA One) and manufactured in Europe, offering multiple powertrain options including four-wheel-drive variants. The third model will be a D-segment large SUV co-developed by Jeep and Dongfeng Motor, produced in China using Dongfeng’s platform. However, Jeep will lead the vehicle’s exterior design, product positioning, and off-road performance standards. This large SUV is part of a global project targeting markets including China and Europe, with Jeep fully responsible for its design—a collaboration model akin to Jeep leading design while its partner provides the manufacturing infrastructure. The large SUV is expected to offer multiple powertrain options, including plug-in hybrid variants, with the PHEV version potentially utilizing Dongfeng’s range-extender technology. Reports suggest that Dongfeng’s M-Hero M817 (a 5.1-meter-long vehicle equipped with all-wheel drive and available in both plug-in hybrid and range-extender versions, delivering a combined maximum output of 900 horsepower) could serve as the technological foundation for this upcoming Jeep large SUV. Fabio Carteni, Head of Jeep Europe, stated that all three new models will uphold the brand’s core values of capability, durability, and versatility, with an emphasis on four-wheel-drive performance. This strategic move aims to fill Jeep’s current gap in the European D-segment SUV market and boost local sales through an enhanced product portfolio.
