On July 1, multiple domestic new energy vehicle (NEV) brands released their June sales figures. In June, Leapmotor achieved global sales of 93,376 units, leading among emerging NEV makers. The brand’s C-series underwent a comprehensive upgrade, and its flagship MPV, the D99, was launched alongside three other new models, collectively driving sales growth. Huawei’s Aito (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) delivered 50,624 vehicles in June, up 9.7% month-over-month, with over 8,000 units of the newly launched Aito M9 delivered within two weeks of its release. XPeng delivered 40,126 vehicles in June, a year-over-year increase of 15.9%, with its new model, the XPeng GX, contributing 6,739 units to the total. Additionally, brands including Fangchengbao, Zeekr, Hyper (Aion), Deepal, Li Auto, and Xiaomi all surpassed 30,000 units in June sales. In terms of progress toward their full-year 2024 sales targets, NIO led the pack with a first-half achievement rate of 41.9%, followed by Li Auto at 39.7% and Leapmotor at 34%. Xiaomi Auto and XPeng posted relatively lower achievement rates, leaving them further behind their annual targets. In the second half of the year, brands will roll out new models intensively, including Xiaomi’s range-extended SUV, XPeng’s MONA L03, NIO’s five-seat ES8, and the updated Li Auto L6. Given the industry trend of stronger sales in the second half compared to the first, most brands still have a realistic chance of meeting their annual targets. Although recent declines in domestic fuel prices may lead to a modest rebound in internal combustion engine vehicle sales, NEVs continue to maintain their dominant position in the overall automotive market.
