On the morning of June 23, 2026, the 23rd meeting of the Joint Working Group on Smart Home Interoperability (CHEAA/CCSA JWG1), co-established by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association (CHEAA) and the China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), was held in Hulunbuir. The meeting brought together 24 experts from the home appliance, telecommunications, and automotive industries. Participants exchanged updates on progress in building the vehicle-to-home (V2H) interoperability ecosystem and joint standardization efforts, and reviewed and approved the initiation proposals for one national standardization guidance technical document and two joint group standards. The national standardization guidance document is titled "Technical Requirements for Communication Between Mobile Internet-Based Smart Home Systems and Intelligent Connected Vehicles." The two joint group standards are "Technical Requirements for Object Models for Interconnection Between Smart Home Systems and Intelligent Connected Vehicles" and "Technical Requirements for Agent Collaboration Between Smart Home Systems and Intelligent Connected Vehicles." At the meeting, Lü Xiaoqiang from Midea Group presented Midea’s V2H ecosystem construction plan, emphasizing a user-centric approach that leverages home appliances, smart home devices, and intelligent cockpit capabilities. He outlined how cloud-platform interconnectivity and intelligent agent collaboration enable practical implementation, and showcased real-world cooperation cases between Midea and companies such as BYD, Changan, Harmony Intelligent Mobility, and NIO. Additionally, the meeting discussed recent progress in standardizing cellular-based connectivity for smart home appliances. Companies including Huawei and Qualcomm have joined several newly initiated projects. The joint working group continues to advance interoperability standards in the smart home domain, aiming to break down technical barriers across industries and foster cross-sector collaboration.
