At the launch event for the Seagull 08, BYD announced that as of early July 2024, it has built over 7,000 ultra-fast charging stations across 325 cities nationwide. Previous data showed that as of May 6, BYD operated 5,924 ultra-fast charging stations in 311 cities. This means that in less than two months, BYD added more than 1,000 new ultra-fast charging stations and expanded coverage to 14 additional cities. On March 5, 2024, BYD unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast charging technology in Shenzhen, claiming the battery can charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. Even at minus 30 degrees Celsius, charging from 20% to 97% takes only three minutes longer than under normal temperature conditions. On the same day, BYD launched its "Ultra-Fast Charging China" initiative, aiming to build 20,000 ultra-fast charging stations by the end of 2026. Currently, this ultra-fast charging network already covers the vast majority of cities in China and continues to expand with denser deployment to support the energy replenishment needs of intercity travelers.
