On January 16, BYD officially unveiled the dual flagship models of its Ocean Series 8—the mid-to-large-sized coupe Seagull 08 and the mid-to-large-sized SUV Sea Lion 08—and released teaser images. The Seagull 08 features a sleek fastback silhouette with low, flowing lines, while the Sea Lion 08 showcases a robust, boxy profile and a broad, muscular body that conveys strength. Both models carry forward the Ocean Network’s signature front fascia design, characterized by minimalist sophistication. The series was first announced at the Ocean Network’s fourth-anniversary Ocean Day user event in December 2025, with an official debut scheduled for Q1 2026. Additionally, on January 10, BYD’s Dynasty Network unveiled its new Tang 9 and Han 9 flagship models, targeting the premium market segment around RMB 400,000, with their global premiere set for the first half of 2026.
