According to foreign media citing data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), Xiaomi's first car, the SU7, achieved domestic deliveries of 258,164 units in 2023, surpassing the Tesla Model 3's 200,361 units for the first time. This marks the first time since the Model 3 entered the Chinese market in 2019 that it has been overtaken by another brand's electric vehicle. Nevertheless, Tesla’s other key model, the Model Y, still recorded significantly higher domestic deliveries last year at 399,664 units, outpacing the SU7. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun previously revealed that cumulative deliveries of the SU7 have exceeded 360,000 units since its launch, averaging approximately 17,000 units per month.
