Autoliv's Jiading Plant Phase II project officially commenced production in January 2026, with a total investment of RMB 350 million and groundbreaking in March 2024. As Autoliv’s flagship airbag manufacturing facility in China, the new plant features the largest fully automated high-bay warehouse system in the region and the world’s largest intelligent automated storage facility, deeply integrating IoT and automation technologies to significantly enhance supply chain responsiveness and operational efficiency. This expansion further strengthens Autoliv’s localized production capabilities in China and supports its “In China, for Global” strategy. Currently, Autoliv’s China headquarters, technical center, and multiple production bases are all located in Jiading, Shanghai. The company is simultaneously advancing expansions of its smart factories in Hefei and Guangzhou and established its second R&D center in Wuhan in 2025. Autoliv stated it will continue increasing its investment in China to drive the intelligent and green transformation of automotive safety systems manufacturing.
