On January 21, Changan Automobile and Midea Group signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement in Foshan, focusing on three key areas: automotive core components, intelligent manufacturing, and the "People·Car·Home" ecosystem. Leveraging its Welling Automotive Components division, Midea will support Changan’s development of new energy vehicles in fields such as thermal management, chassis actuation systems, and motor and electronic control systems. The two companies will also jointly build flexible intelligent production lines, AI-powered intelligent agents, and smart energy systems to drive manufacturing upgrades. Initial results of the collaboration are already evident: the Changan Qiyuan Q05 features a "Car-to-Home Control" function, enabling users to remotely control home appliances—including air conditioners, lighting, and robotic vacuum cleaners—via voice commands. This allows for pre-setting the home environment before arrival and energy-saving management after leaving. The feature will be rolled out to other Qiyuan series models via OTA updates. Additionally, a "Home-to-Car Control" function is currently under development, which will allow users to remotely prepare their vehicles from home in the future. Both parties aim to center their efforts on user needs, transforming car-home interconnectivity from technological synergy into tangible, real-world experiences and creating smarter, more comfortable scenarios for intelligent living.
