GAC Trumpchi EMPOW RN1 Racing Car Launches, Starting at ¥98,000

On January 22, GAC Trumpchi partnered with KF Racing to launch the entry-level, one-make race car—the EMPOW RN1—starting at RMB 98,000. Built on the EMPOW R platform, the RN1 is specifically designed for cost-effective, highly equitable one-make racing series, supporting the development of aspiring drivers. Far from being a "half-finished" vehicle, the EMPOW RN1 is a fully equipped race car ready to compete straight from the factory. It features China’s most powerful 2.0T engine, delivering 265 horsepower and 400 N·m of peak torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that shifts gears in just 0.2 seconds. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 5.7 seconds in stock form. The EMPOW RN1 also debuts Bosch’s ESP 10 system globally and comes equipped with four-piston calipers, Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires, and adjustable coilover suspension tuned for track performance. With only a switch to semi-slick tires, it lapped the Zhuhai International Circuit in 1 minute 55 seconds—nearly 8 seconds faster than the standard production model.
