Tesla has quietly adjusted the standard driver-assistance configurations across its entire U.S. vehicle lineup—including the Model S, 3, X, Y, and Cybertruck—by removing the previously standard Autopilot basic features (including lane centering) and retaining only Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC). Customers must now pay extra to access more advanced driver-assistance capabilities: they can either purchase Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability outright for a limited-time price of $8,000 (approximately RMB 55,800) or subscribe monthly for $99 (approximately RMB 691). This policy currently applies only to the U.S. market; in China, vehicles sold still come standard with basic Autopilot features, with an Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) package available for RMB 32,000 or a one-time FSD purchase option for RMB 64,000.
