Japan's automotive industry is facing mounting pressure due to sustained increases in energy, raw material, logistics, and labor costs. Toyota recently disclosed that it has paid an additional approximately ¥5.1 trillion to its parts suppliers over the past four and a half years to cope with soaring costs. The company stated that suppliers can no longer sustain production of the same components at previous prices. If parts prices continue to rise, Toyota will be forced to raise vehicle prices, potentially weakening its price competitiveness in the Japanese market.
