Recently, TikTok user Tay shared her experience of deciding to trade in her 2025 Toyota Corolla after owning it for just one year. She purchased the base model for $26,000 but was dissatisfied with the lack of features such as push-button start, heated seats, a sunroof, and even a sunglasses holder. She also mentioned that the key frequently got stuck in the steering column, requiring assistance from the dealership to remove it. Tay further criticized the front bumper for being prone to falling off and noted that blind-spot monitoring wasn’t included as standard equipment. She also felt misled by Toyota’s advertised “free maintenance for four years,” as she still had to pay extra for a wheel alignment service. While acknowledging the Corolla’s reliability, she said its driving dynamics were poor and cabin noise levels were high, making it more suitable for recent graduates than for herself. Many commenters responded that the base trim naturally comes with limited features and suggested that if she wanted more amenities, she should have opted for a higher trim level or considered alternatives like the Honda Civic or Hyundai Elantra. Toyota has not yet issued a response to the matter.
