Since its European launch in September last year, the all-new Mercedes-Benz all-electric GLC SUV has seen surging demand, with orders now backlogged until the second half of 2026. Due to demand far exceeding expectations, Mercedes-Benz has implemented a three-shift production system at its Bremen plant in Germany and added Saturday shifts to accelerate deliveries. With a range exceeding 640 kilometers and the ability to fast-charge in under 30 minutes, the electric GLC is a cornerstone of Mercedes-Benz’s electrification strategy. Board member Matthias Geissler stated that its market performance has even surpassed initial projections. Additionally, the locally produced long-wheelbase version of the all-electric GLC has appeared in an announcement by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Manufactured by Beijing Benz, this variant features body dimensions and a dual-motor configuration specifically optimized for the Chinese market, further expanding supply capacity.
