On January 23, Southeast University's research team unveiled its newly developed flying car, "SEU Kunpeng II," in its first public demonstration. The vehicle successfully took off from the Jiulonghu Campus, flew across the lake, and precisely landed on the fifth-floor platform of Sanjiang Building. Compared to its predecessor, the "Kunpeng I," the new model is lighter, features foldable arms for easier parking and rapid configuration switching, and is specifically designed for professional cargo applications such as low-altitude logistics, inspection, and emergency response. Aligning with China’s national policy for low-altitude economic development—prioritizing cargo over passengers and suburban areas before urban centers—the vehicle incorporates a redundant safety architecture, enhanced payload capacity, an innovative ground-based chassis, and a high-precision navigation system. Emphasizing seamless air-ground integration and high mission reliability, this milestone marks a critical step toward large-scale commercial deployment.
