In 2026, BMW will implement an official price reduction coupled with added standard features for its best-selling models—including the 3 Series, X3, and i3—with some models seeing official price cuts exceeding RMB 60,000 and receiving multiple new standard configurations. However, reporters from Time Weekly found during visits to multiple BMW dealerships in Beijing that due to simultaneous reductions in terminal discounts, consumers are actually paying higher prices for vehicles. For example, the base price of the new 325Li is RMB 8,000 higher than that of the previous model. Industry insiders noted that this move aims to alleviate inventory and cash flow pressures faced by dealers. BMW’s sales in China declined by 12.5% in 2025, leading to store closures in multiple regions, with many dealers reportedly losing money on every vehicle sold. By standardizing pricing and lowering dealer procurement costs, BMW seeks to stabilize its dealership network. New model inventory has already arrived at dealerships, with delivery lead times now shortened to 10–30 days.
