Boosted by surging orders from the European market, BMW has already added a third production shift ahead of schedule at its Debrecen plant in Hungary for the iX3. As of October 2025, orders from Germany alone have exceeded 3,000 units, with most customers placing orders without having test-driven—or even seen—the actual vehicle. Approximately one-third of these buyers are new customers purchasing a BMW for the first time. Although BMW has denied rumors that its first-year production capacity has sold out, strong demand has prompted the company to accelerate its capacity adjustment plans. Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the iX3 delivers significant improvements in charging speed, energy efficiency, and software capabilities. Despite polarized opinions on its design, market enthusiasm remains undiminished. The iX3’s main rival is the Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ, which lags slightly behind in charging performance and range. Official deliveries of the iX3 have not yet commenced, and a specific launch date has not been announced.
