A TikTok user named Jessica recently went viral for a video showing her driving in snowy conditions. In the clip, she smoothly drives her Honda Civic at 40 mph (approximately 64 km/h) on snow- and ice-covered roads, calling the Civic her “snow queen.” The video has garnered over a thousand views and sparked online discussions about the Civic’s winter performance. Some commenters noted their own Civics tend to slip on snow, especially on uphill stretches; Jessica responded that as long as she avoids taking turns too quickly, she has full confidence in her car. In fact, Honda officially states that compact sedans like the Civic aren’t specifically designed for harsh winter conditions. In contrast, models such as the CR-V, Pilot, Passport, and Ridgeline—equipped with snow mode, all-wheel drive, or all-season tires—are better suited for winter driving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also reminds drivers that cold temperatures can affect tire pressure and battery performance, and recommends checking lights, windshield washer fluid, and other essentials before heading out to ensure safe travel.
