The 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has officially debuted, retaining its classic design while introducing significant technological upgrades. Externally, it preserves iconic elements, featuring a larger front grille adorned with the three-pointed star emblem. The taillights draw inspiration from the new E-Class and are complemented by a full-width chrome strip. Inside, the cabin is equipped with the new “Superscreen” system, comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.3-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display. The system supports generative AI and native Google Maps integration. Rear passengers benefit from two 13.1-inch screens and a detachable remote control, with Disney+ and YouTube apps available for the first time. Under the hood, the S580 is powered by an all-new 4.0-liter flat-plane V8 engine producing 530 horsepower, paired with a mild-hybrid system that enables a 0–60 mph sprint in just 3.9 seconds. The S500 features a 442-horsepower inline-six engine, while the plug-in hybrid S580e delivers a combined output of 576 horsepower. All variants come standard with all-wheel drive, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and air suspension. Pricing for the new model is expected to start no lower than the current S-Class’s $120,800, with sales commencing later this year.
