Graz University of Technology in Austria, in collaboration with automotive supplier Magna, has unveiled Europe’s most advanced VR driving simulator at the newly built Advanced Driving Simulation Center on the university’s Inffeldgasse campus. The system delivers a highly realistic driving experience, enabling engineers to test and optimize chassis, tires, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in a controlled environment—well before physical prototype vehicles are built. The project aims to bridge the gap between mathematical modeling and real human perception in vehicle development. Magna is responsible for equipment procurement and installation, while Graz University of Technology will manage ongoing operations. The university stated that this initiative deepens the decades-long partnership between the two parties and will significantly enhance R&D efficiency for autonomous and electric vehicles.
