A new study by iSeeCars has ranked the "best cars to buy" for 2026 by evaluating both price and reliability. The rankings, based on factors including expected vehicle lifespan, average annual ownership cost, and purchase price, feature 25 sedans, SUVs, and pickup trucks. Topping the list is the Honda Civic, with a starting price of $27,768, an expected lifespan of 13.5 years, and an average annual cost of $2,058. It is followed closely by the Toyota Corolla, Mazda3, and Volkswagen Jetta. Among SUVs, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport offers the best value, while the Honda CR-V boasts a longer lifespan (13.9 years). In the pickup segment, the Toyota Tacoma leads with a 15.7-year lifespan and an average annual cost of $2,833. Although the Lexus IS350 has the longest lifespan (17 years), its price exceeds $50,000. Experts note that consumers are increasingly holding onto their vehicles longer due to high car prices, and this ranking provides clear guidance for buyers prioritizing durability and affordability.
